Historic - Waimate North
Te Waimate Mission House, built in 1832, is the second oldest standing building in New Zealand, and is the only survivor of three mission houses founded in 1830 on behalf of the Church Missionary Society by the Reverend Samuel Marsden with the agreement of local Nga Puhi. Historic - Hokianga
Visit the site of the third and largest signing of the Treaty of Waitangi at this Wesleyan Mission, located in one of the most stunning parts of the Hokianga Harbour. Built in 1838-39, the house is furnished with precious missionary items, portraits of historical figures including the chief Patuone, the missionaries' main protector.
